Walkerton – once home to negative headlines – boasts milestone in water safety training

The Ontario town that made international headlines almost 22 years ago when its tainted water resulted in the deaths of seven people and the illnesses of thousands of others, is making headlines of another sort. Home to the Walkerton Clean Water Centre, the town can boast the facility’s training of 100,000 people in drinking water safety. It recently reached the milestone after opening in 2004.
